Beet – Flat of Egypt

per bunch

One of the earliest of beets. The shape is round with a flattened bottom and a very slender taproot. The flesh is uniformly deep, dark red, the skin is smooth, the flavor exceptional. Described in Vilmorin’s The Vegetable Garden in 1885.
